Frankfurt am Main – The Italian State Tourist Board ENIT will participate in the 11th edition of IMEX, a major promotions platform for the international meetings industry. The aim is to make Italy the protagonist of top destinations for business tourism around the world, as well as to support the activity of internationalization of businesses in the sector.
From 21 to 23 May approximately 9,000 tour operators from all over the world, and active in the field of conference, congress and incentive travel, will meet in the German financial capital to present latest news on the sector and conclude business negotiations.
ENIT, as co-ordinator of the national offer, will organize the participation of Italian tour operators in one single exhibition space representing the entire conference supply chain. At the three-day event 58 Italian tour operators will participate, including convention bureaux and product club, hotel chains, congress centers, PCOs and DMCs, all gathered at the ENIT/Italia Stand D400 in Hall 8. Two large corners of the Italy stand, organized and managed by ENIT, are dedicated respectively to Roma Capitale’s offer and Spazio Veneto. The traditional briefing for Italian tour operators will be held at the Frankfurt exhibition on Monday, 20th May in the presence of Andrea Babbi, ENIT’s Director General.
The promotional activities will continue at the ENIT stand with 15 group appointments, presentations reserved to selected groups of international buyers by Italian exhibitors. On 21st May the agency Toscana Promozione will showcase the regional MICE offer during a press conference for journalists and operators. A “Happy Hour” to taste the famous Italian cake panettone offered by “The Hub Hotel” will take place at 5 pm at ENIT space. The working sessions will end with a promotional event in the evening hosted by the Emilia Romagna region, Emilia Romagna-Your event our destination, dedicated exclusively to the trade sector.

According to the 2012 statistics of the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Italy confirms its position on place 6 of the international country ranking measured by number of meetings organized after USA, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom and France.
