Sandals Grande Antigua Resort & Spa prepares to host travel elite for World Travel Awards 2013

WORLD-TRAVEL-AWARDSWorld Travel Awards looks set to host the elite of the Caribbean and North American travel industries on September 14th 2013.

The Awards are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries and international media. For this years’ Gala Event, travel, tourism and hospitality organisations from 30 countries will compete for these prestigious top accolades culminating in a glittering Gala Presentation Ceremony in Antigua.

The North American region categories will see new winners across three new Awards which seek to identify and find the leaders across several categories. These will include Awards for “Leading Hotel Suite”, “Leading Family Resort” and “Leading Meetings & Conference destination”.

Key categories to watch at WTA’s Caribbean & North Americas Ceremony include “Caribbeans Leading Hotel” with 18 nominations including some of the world’s top – Blue Haven Hotel, Tobago, Bluff House Beach Resort & Marina, Abaco, Buccament Bay Resort, St Vincent & The Grenadines, Coco Reef Resort, Tobago Colony Club Hotel, Barbados, Eden Rock, St Barths, Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies, Graycliff Hotel, Bahamas, Hotel Kura Hulanda Spa & Casino, Curacao Jumby Bay, A Rosewood Resort, Antigua, Parrot Cay, Turks & Caicos, Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas, Sandy Lane, Barbados and The Regent Palms, Turks & Caicos among the hot contenders.

Meanwhile the likes of Denver, Colorado, USA, Maui, Hawaii, USA, Miami, Florida, USA, New York, USA, Orlando, Florida, USA, Vancouver, Canada and Washington DC, USA go head-to-head for the coveted title of “North America’s Leading Destination”.

Hundreds of senior travel decision-makers from across the Caribbean and Americas are scheduled to attend the gala evening, which will include a gourmet dinner, top entertainment, as well as the presentation of the prestigious awards.
