Florence Convention Bureau wins the annual convention of WorldVentures scheduled at the Mandela Forum from 15 to 17 November 2013.
Estimated revenue of € 2.8 million and economic impact of € 1.2 million with about 10,000 overnight stays.
Florence, July 9, 2013 – Florence won one of the most important annual Convention of World Ventures, an American multi-level marketing company specialized in travel and tourism. The Worldventures is currently present in 23 countries and has over 100,000 independent representatives worldwide.
The event “A View from the Edge” will be held from 15 to 17 November 2013 at Nelson Mandela Forum, the largest sports arena of Florence, member of the Florence Convention Bureau, and will bring approximately 5,000 participants from around the world.
Florence Convention Bureau received the request last January by Mike Walker Creative, an American agency based in Texas, and worked several months on the bidding process, organizing site inspections and assisting the client in the selection of the location, hotels allotment and in the definition of the services needed. At the end of May Florence, competing with other European cities, was chosen as the best destination for the convention.
The event will produce a total turnover of Euro 2,800,000, as well as an economic impact on the local area of 1,204,000 Euro with approximately 10,000 overnight stays in the hotels of the city and its surroundings.
