During next European Academy of Congress and Meetings Organisers Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO will speak about its experience and CSR activities – activities for local community and connected with ecology.
European Academy of Congress and Meetings Organisers held by The Conferences and Congresses in Poland Association www.skkp.org.pl is a meeting dedicated to meetings industry professionals. Every year conference gathers corporate, association meetings planners and representatives of events agencies.
CSR activities in meetings industry
This year’s event will present selected case studies in the field of corporate responsibility, respect for the environment and the local community in the context of the organization of events. Trends clearly shows that CSR activities’ are playing more and more important role for associations and corporates in process of planning a conference. Academy’s organizers stress that luck of understand for CSR activities makes the offers of Polish hotels and conference venues less attractive. That is why this year’s event is focused on educational character of the meeting.
During the Academy Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO will speak about two activities – charity action during business trade show in Barcelona in 2012 (as an example of activity for local community) and launching GCBeVENT app (as an example of proecological product).
Gdansk Convention Bureau Christmas charity action
EIBTM business tourism fair in Barcelona is one of the biggest meetings industry show – with a total participation of more than 3,000 exhibitors and 8,000 guests (hostedGdansk Conventiomn Bureau/GTO awarded for the Best PR during EIBTM fair in Barcelona 2012 buyers and visitors). Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO organized a charity action for one of the Spanish orphanages. With cooperation with EIBTM Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO bought some school’s utensils (pencils, crayons, notebooks) and sent them to children. Also GCB/GTO organized Christmas action with making bubbles which attracted many guests to Gdansk&Region stand. Also each exhibitor could leave some promotional gadgets on Gdansk&Region stand. When fair were finished all gadgets were sent to Spanish children’s house. EIBTM awarded Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO for the best PR activities during the event.
Ecological event app
Mobile Trends Awards for GCBeVENT app, Cracow 2013GCBeVENT app is a very good example of ecological product in meetings industry. It is one of the first event app in Poland offered free of charge to every meeting planner interested in organizing an event in Gdansk&Region. In the app delegates can find all the information about the conference- agenda, information about speakers, maps, information about venue and many others. It makes huge savings of time and money for the event organizers. No printed materials are needed. GCBeVENT has also many other functionalities which help in organizing conferences and business meetings in general (using GCBeVENT app delegates can communicate with each other, app is also connected to social media). Gdansk Convention Bureau/GTO was awarded for the app with 2012 Mobile Trends Awards in Cracow.
