Events being held at the Barbican can now benefit from the use of 3D video projection mapping, as the venue continues to develop new and exciting ways to help clients make their events more creative.
Projection mapping is a technique which allows video to be screened onto almost any surface, and will turn any of Barbican’s space into a dynamic video display. The new service will be of particular interest to clients using the Barbican for advertising and product launches, music videos and experiential brand events.
Projection mapping is being provided in conjunction with The Guildhall School of Music and Drama as Barbican looks to help create immersive, inspiring and interactive events which help clients get more out of their events.
Projection mapping was successfully used during the Tour de France, with video being streamed on to the Arc de Triomphe, and onto Buckingham Palace during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
Lee Dobson, head of event management, Barbican Business Events, comments, “The effects of video projection mapping can be truly extraordinary. The new service is just one example of how integrating our commercial and arts offering allows us to shape client events in more innovative ways.
Investing in video projection mapping is part of our commitment to provide ever more interesting event solutions and will turn even the simplest client event into a truly memorable experience for all involved. Working in partnership with The Guildhall School of Music and Drama means we can draw on our combined experience, provide bespoke consultation to deliver an event which exceeds clients expectations and allows delegates to experience something unusual.”
