From October 21 to 27, the annual Riga International Short Film Festival 2ANNAS will delight film lovers, offering a wide range of short films from well known directors from around the world, as well as works from up and coming directors.Every year, 2ANNAS offers a range of short film collections – international and Baltic competition programs, guest programs, retrospectives, and others, presenting films of all genres – fiction, animation, documentary, experimental film / video art, etc.
This year, the festival will put emphasis on women portrayed in films, and their roles as actresses, objects of inspiration, legends and idols in the various types of roles they play.
The festival hosts lectures and photo exhibitions, as well as theater and music performances, “out-of-box events”, and other activities within the rich city environment and the vibrant multi-talented 2ANNAS atmosphere.
The main objective of the festival is to promote the works of professional filmmakers outside of and as an alternative to mainstream cinema products, both locally and internationally. The festival especially wants to see the development of Baltic films and their trends within the context of the world, and to promote them by creating an appropriate environment for developing new ideas and cooperation projects.
