“Home of Cricket” expects high demand during landmark summer
Hospitality packages have today (Tuesday 8th October) been released for Major Matches at Lord’s next season.
The 2014 summer marks the Bicentenary of Lord’s Cricket Ground, and during a year of celebrations, MCC – owners of the world famous ground – will host three Major Matches across the season. The action will get underway on Saturday 31st May with a One Day International between England and Sri Lanka. This will be quickly followed by the first Test Match of the English summer, contested between the same two sides, from Thursday 12th June – Monday 16th June. July meanwhile will see Lord’s host MS Dhoni’s India team for a Test Match from Thursday 17th – Monday 21st.
Priced from £349 + VAT per person, hospitality packages during Major Matches at Lord’s in 2014 will provide guests with unrivalled access to the Ground’s historic surroundings, and present an exhilarating atmosphere from three exclusive hospitality areas. Control of hospitality sales will once again be provided in house, following a review of the hospitality services structure in 2012, which saw the venue take control of the process. The move now ensures that the Ground’s core values and impeccable customer service levels are delivered throughout the Lord’s experience.
Past international skippers will host hospitality guests as they enjoy dishes superbly prepared by MCC’s Executive Head Chef, Tim Harrington, in the Captains’ Lounge, whilst five-star cuisine and a premium location (directly next to guests’ seats in the Mound Stand) will be at the fore within the Marylebone Suite. Finally, the Nursery Pavilion package offers guests vistas across the Nursery Ground and exemplary service levels to groups of all sizes.
Following a successful 2013 summer – within which 8,814 packages were sold throughout the year– demand for hospitality at Lord’s during the Ground’s Bicentenary year is expected to be high,
Hayley Wood, Hospitality Sales Manager at Lord’s Cricket Ground, said: “MCC is very excited to be releasing hospitality packages for Major Matches at Lord’s during the Ground’s Bicentenary – especially after such a successful first year of providing catering and service in house. We received fantastic feedback from guests throughout the summer of 2013, and expect an equally high demand for next summer’s ODI and Test Match dates.”
