The Mermaid Conference and Events Centre has expanded its team with five new recruits following a restructure of the conference and events department.

Maria Cena, previously senior sales manager at The Mermaid, has been promoted to commercial manager and will take charge of the venue’s sales and marketing strategy with the aim of maximising all revenue opportunities. Recently joining the team is operations manager Iain Moffat. Previously operations manager at IET Savoy Place, Iain’s new role will see him improve conference and events operations as well as function catering. Between them both, Maria and Iain have over 36 years’ experience of the conference and events industry.

Further expertise comes from Jade Harrison, previously sales executive at the Science Museum, who joins The Mermaid as business development executive. The sales department also expands with the appointment of new sales executive Sophie Duboisset, while the AV team is joined by AV technician Pawan Shastri.
