51,192 trade visitors (+1%) at the main marketplace of the travel industry

An important figure, taking into account the difficult period the tourism sector is going. Driving forces of the growth have been mainly the international Countries, with a 3% increase in their attendance. Huge success for the two new features: TTG Next, the area dedicated to Start-Up companies and Travel Blogger Destination Italy.

Rimini, October 22, 2013 – International tourism lifts its head up at TTG Incontri. The expectations for this event have been fully met during the 50th edition of TTG Incontri and the 13th of TTI, the trade fairs organised by TTG Italia, a Rimini Fiera Group company, which from last October 17 to 19 have turned Rimini Fair Quarters (Italy) into the most important marketplace for the international tourism industry. Together the two events have registered an attendance of 51,192 trade visitors, with a 1% growth compared to 2012. Driving force of this growth has  been the presence from foreign Countries: +3%.

Huge success for the two new features of the 2013 edition: TTG Next with 50 innovative start-up companies and  Travel Blogger Destination Italy, the event dedicated to the new media with 200 bloggers and video makers coming from all over the world.

Over 13,000 appointments carried out between the international demand and the Italian offer during the TTI workshop, now the most important marketplace where to commercialise the Italian tourism product in the world, attended by a thousand buyers from 60 Countries worldwide, among which, for the first time, a delegation of the most important Indian tour operators, members of the Otoai association, who handle the lion’s share of Indian tourists’ travel to foreign Countries, Italy included (around 400 thousand arrivals to Italy).

We are fully satisfied with the results and the prestige achieved by this event, which is among the jewels in the crown  of our Group – states the President of RiminiFiera, Lorenzo Cagnoni – and offers important business tools to the international tourism market, a decisive sector for our territory. We will keep on investing in the development of TTG Incontri and TTI according to the guidelines based on innovation and research which have always characterised them”.

The 50th edition of TTG Incontri was inaugurated by the Italian Minister for Culture and Tourism, Massimo Bray, who acknowledged the strategic role of the travel industry in the Italian economy.

Anyone wondering whether there was a chance for a new start, has received the answers he was looking for at TTG Incontri, which no doubt this year has lived one of its best editions, confirming its leadership in Italy and its prestige at the international level– says Paolo Audino, managing director of TTG Italia–. Among the operators, the climate has been that of renewed optimism, focus and enthusiasm. Having left resignation aside, the market has proved to be well focused and active and has welcomed all the new opportunities offered by the exhibition”.

Over 2,400 tourism enterprises and over 130 destinations have taken part in the fair, the latter for the most part having chosen TTG Incontri as their sole promotional event in Italy. Among these, also Argentina, Host Country 2013, which, on the occasion of TTG Incontri has relaunched its new offer and image.

Special appreciation has been shown for the re-arrangement of the exhibition spaces and their subdivision into themed areas. Very appreciated and rich in content have been also the appointments of TTG Forum – which this year has hosted the exclusive WTM Vision Conference introducing world tourism data – and the TTG Labs, the seminars with experts which, once again this year has sold out. In the spotlight in Rimini the trends of international tourism, the new holiday styles and the increasingly central role of mobile and social interactivity in travel choices and in the sharing of experiences.

Good success has also been achieved by myagenda, the new online platform launched by TTG Incontri to favour the encounter between the demand and the offer taking part in the exhibition: over 5,000 appointments have been requested by trade visitors to exhibitors.

The next edition of  TTG Incontri and TTI will take place in Rimini Fiera from October 9 to 11, 2014.
