Prague, 17th December, 2013 – Prague Convention Bureau in cooperation with the Prague Congress Centre organized a Pre-Christmas Cocktail for congress ambassadors. The event was held under the auspices of Prague City Councillor Mr. Václav Novotný within the Ambassador Programme.
On 12th December, more than 30 congress ambassadors, including a number of well-known personalities of Czech science and medicine, met in ZOOM Restaurant of the Prague Congress Centre. These respected professionals are members of international societies, associations and committees who regularly meet at scientific congresses and conferences around the world. Due to their reputation and active participation in the preparation of candidacies for these events they help Prague Convention Bureau build awareness about Prague as a congress destination.
After the official part of the meeting, the participants were invited by the Prague Congress Centre and its partners to the STRAUSS – GALA concert. Pre-Christmas Cocktail for congress ambassadors connected with a large cultural event was the first event of its kind held within the Ambassador Program run by Prague Convention Bureau.
“So far, Prague Convention Bureau has organized only educational and networking breakfasts for congress ambassadors and annual Ambassador Awards Evenings, gala evenings organized in order to award congress ambassadors for their contribution to congress industry, within its Ambassador Programme,” explains Lenka Žlebková, managing director of Prague Convention Bureau, adding: “The evening networking event connected with a cultural programme met with great acclaim and high interest among congress ambassadors. In future, we intend to extend the Ambassador Programme to the national level and to hold more events where congress ambassadors can share their experience with organizing international meetings.”
The main mission of educational and networking events for congress ambassadors is to raise their awareness of the importance of international congresses for their discipline and destination. By organizing these events, Prague Convention Bureau tries to inform congress ambassadors about the possibilities of support and to positively motivate them to become more active within the international associations in order to bring some of the world or European congress held within their field to Prague.
