Copenhagen Airport reached a record of 24.1 million passengers in 2013, an increase of 3.1%, the third consecutive year of passenger records. In December, the passenger number rose by as much as 5.3%.

Exactly 24,067,030 passengers travelled through Copenhagen Airport in 2013, representing a year-on-year growth rate of 3.1%.

“The year 2013 ended on a strong note, and our growth rate for the year was higher than at most of our competitors among the other European hub airports. This shows that our strategy of strengthening the hub is effective. I therefore see the “world champion in route development” award that we received in 2013 as a concrete acknowledgement of our growth in routes and passenger numbers,” said Thomas Woldbye, CEO of Copenhagen Airports A/S.

The international and intercontinental routes were the growth drivers in 2013, as the number of international passengers increased by 3.6%. The number of domestic passengers was largely unchanged from 2012 with only about 32,000 fewer passengers, equivalent to a drop of 1.7%. The number of transfer passengers was up by 0.3%.
