Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen now opens its doors to a new and luxurious spa – Kokkedal Castle Spa by Sodashi. The spa is the first and only one of its kind in Scandinavia to present the world-famous and 100 percent natural Australian spa and beauty brand Sodashi. Hotel and conference guests, as well as other visitors, can now enjoy more than 30 unique spa treatments in an exquisite setting surrounded by tranquil nature just 30 min north of Copenhagen.
“Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen’s uncompromising standards and outstanding coastal location nestled by woods and parkland unite to offer an unrivalled ambiance for relaxation and contemplation, and we hope that our guests will welcome the more than 30 carefully curated treatments available at the spa – including massage, facials, shiatsu, acupuncture, aromatherapy, yoga, and the best of Ayurveda,” explains Ms.
Sjöblom, who has many years of experience as a yoga instructor, personal trainer and meditation instructor at acclaimed spa and health resorts in both Denmark and abroad, including Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas.
But the exclusive spa and beauty treatments are not reserved just for castle guests and locals in North Zealand – the expert team at Kokkedal Spa by Sodashi also hopes to tempt the many conference guests at Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen to enjoy the relaxing spa treatments during their busy working days: “Our ambition is for the spa to provide a haven, a breathing space in everyday life, and we hope to inspire and accommodate the castle’s conference and event guests with treats such as positive breaks and office yoga,” explains Ms. Sjöblom.
The spa, located at the heart of Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen, boasts four exclusive treatment rooms featuring the latest technology and equipment, an elegant pool, a sauna, a steam room and a cold-water bath. Furthermore, well-established design names, including Piet Boon and Dornbracht, have contributed to the splendid interiors with chairs and the unique RainSky showers, respectively.
The Castle – then and now
Kokkedal Castle was erected in 1746 as a country manor and was designed by architect Johann Gottfried Rosenborg, who also designed the Odd Fellow Mansion in Copenhagen. The castle’s past owners have included the co-founder of the East Asiatic Company, Jens Frederik Horsens Block (1864), and chamberlain and former admiral Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu (1910). In 2011, Kokkedal Castle opened as a hotel and is today known as Kokkedal Castle Copenhagen.
In 2013, the castle was acquired by the M Goldschmidt Group. The Group was founded in 1979 by Mikael Goldschmidt and its wholly or partially controlled subsidiaries have more than 1,350 employees based in 25 companies, primarily in Denmark. The Group’s total annual revenue in wholly or partly controlled companies currently amounts to DKK 1.6 billion and shareholder’s equity totals more than DKK 2 billion.
