Over 7 000 business meetings were held in Gdansk & Region in 2013. That is 2 000 more than in 2012. It is a great success of local industry and Gdansk Convention Bureau/Gdansk Tourist Organisation.
In 2013 Gdansk & Region hosted 7 186 business meetings (5098 meetings in 2012). Over 630 000 delegates participated in it (400 000 delegates in 2012).
That great result is a clear signal that Gdansk & Region want to hold the position of one of the top Polish conference destinations. Gdansk is also a strong competitor for other European congress destination with over 830 international business meetings held in 2013 (525 in 2012).
Gdansk is a core city of Gdansk Metropolitan Arena that consists of Gdansk-Sopot-Gdynia commonly known as a Tri-City and Region. Sopot and Region recorded growth in number of business meetings in 2013. In 2013 Sopot hosted 1056 conferences (794 meetings in 2012). So called Region (venues located outside Tri-City) hosted 1213 business meetings (880 meetings in 2012). High score of Sopot and Region proves how wide range of conference possibilities the Pomorskie Region represents.
Gdansk Convention Bureau GTO statistic report is the only that kind of document in region where local tourist industry including venues, PCO and others can find comprehensive information about Gdansk & Region conference potential. Document is also an important determinant of Gdansk Convention Bureau GTO activities held at local, national and international market.
