wtm latin america2014Brazilian employers’ organisation The National Confederation of Good Trade, Services and Tourism (CNC) is to be a main sponsor for World Travel Market Latin America, the leading global event for the Latin American travel industry.

The CNC is looking to utilise the international exposure WTM Latin America offers ahead of Brazil hosting the 2014 Football World Cup and Rio holding the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

CNC is sponsoring WTM Latin America to expand its contacts amongst the global travel and tourism industry with the aim of boosting tourism to the country.

CNC Tourism Council Chairman Alexandre Sampaio said: “With Brazil hosting such huge events WTM Latin America takes on a strategic position.

“As a representative of Brazilian tourism, the CNC had to be involved in WTM Latin America.”

WTM Latin America takes place between April 23rd and April 25th at the Transamerica Expo Center, in the city of São Paulo, at the same time as the 41st Braztoa Business Meeting (the Brazilian Association of Tour Operators).

At the 2013 edition of WTM Latin America, more than 1,200 exhibitors had the chance to create closer ties, make new contacts and of course, sign deals – all attracted by the economic and social progress that has been achieved by the countries in Latin America.

Sampaio added: “The growth of tourism in Latin America demonstrates the continued interest of international travellers to get to know the southern and central parts of the American continent. Latin America has a wide range of tourist products and segments to offer, such as exuberant landscapes and nature, historic monuments and cultural diversity – which is reflected in its folklore, in its cooking and in its arts and crafts – but, right now, it is also generating significant demand in relation to international travel in light of the emergence of a new middle class, with acquisitive power, which want to travel and familiarise themselves other countries.”
