Two companies have been given the valuable opportunity to showcase their offering at an important industry event. As in previous years, the GCB German Convention Bureau e.V has awarded two “Wild Cards” for the trade fair “IMEX – incorporating Meetings made in Germany” taking place in Frankfurt from 20 to 22 May 2014. This means two companies have the opportunity to showcase their products free of charge to visitors at the show.
Companies that are new to the German conference and convention market or which offer a new, innovative product are considered for the Wild Card Program. Each year young, creative companies which are located in Germany and specialise in events in the country are invited to submit their most innovative and convincing applications. An important criterion in the selection process is also that applicants have not yet taken part in a trade fair for meetings, business travel, events and incentives.
Eintracht Frankfurt ProSports GmbH and Eberbach Abbey are both delighted about winning the GCB Wild Cards in 2014. “Both successful applicants perfectly represent the broad range of meeting and event facilities in Germany ranging from the abbey that dates back centuries with its unique character to the ultra-modern sports centre,” explains Matthias Schultze, Managing Director of the GCB.
Eintracht Frankfurt ProSports
Eintracht Frankfurt ProSports GmbH, a subsidiary of the largest sports club in the State of Hesse, Eintracht Frankfurt e.V., organises extensive sports events and corporate tournaments for companies from the Rhein-Main region. The sports centre where the organisation trains their up-and-coming talent is being used more frequently as a venue for conventions, conferences and meetings. The central feature is the symbiosis of perfectly organised events, the Eintracht Frankfurt brand and the sporting environment. Eintracht Frankfurt ProSports GmbH uses the synergy of sport and corporate events to offer events with a unique atmosphere in a special environment. By taking part in IMEX 2014 we intend to make the event services we offer in the corporate sport sector available to a broad spectrum of the public and present our sports centre as a conference venue to decision-makers in the sector.”
Kloster Eberbach
Located in a peaceful wooded valley in the Rheingau, yet only 50 kilometres from Frankfurt, is Eberbach Abbey – one of the few almost fully preserved Cistercian abbeys with a history stretching back nearly 900 years. Combining culture, wine and enjoyment, the abbey has a unique atmosphere for meetings and exchanges. The broad range of historic premises provides a suitable venue for meetings for just 10 people or for companies with up to 1000 guests: clients can choose small rooms such as the Abbot’s Garden House or the Hospital, medium-sized rooms like the Monks’ Refectory or the Brewery as well as larger rooms such as the Basilica or the Dormitories. The grounds of the abbey with their park-style garden complex are one of the most beautiful, historic multifaceted works of art in the State of Hesse and they can be included in the event organisation with unusual designs.
“Winning this Wild Card provides us with a great opportunity to present this gem, Eberbach Abbey, to a broad international public. We’re confident that our presence at IMEX will generate interest and business, helping to preserve the abbey for a long time to come”, enthuses Martin Blach, Executive Director of the Eberbach Abbey Foundation.
