ACC Liverpool will host the UK Oracle User Group (UKOUG), the largest Oracle conference in the UK, for the first time.
The venue, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena, is set to welcome more than 1,000 delegates each to Tech14 and Apps14 from December 8 – 10 this year. Both events will run over three days and will see BT Convention Centre divided into two to create two separate events.
Around 400 internationally renowned speakers are expected overall along with 60 exhibitors providing advice and information about technological solutions and products.
James Haslam, UKOUG chief executive, said: “Both our conferences have the same objective of sharing knowledge and providing networking opportunities among the Oracle community.
“These are the most important dates in the UK Oracle User Group calendar as they enable members to learn about new services, products and provide support to each other.
“We are pleased to be coming to Liverpool for the first time and were attracted by the venue’s flexibility. An enticing social programme is a major part of both our conferences and Liverpool ticked every box for attractions, restaurants and cultural offers, all of which we hope our delegates will take advantage of.”
UKOUG was established over 30 years ago and has more than 8,500 member contacts. Its aim is to influence and improve the design, functionality and technology of Oracle products.
Kerrin MacPhie, director of sales at ACC Liverpool, said: “This is really unusual for us to have two conferences co-located.
“As both will attract different audiences, we are splitting the convention centre down the middle including the galleria and hall two, creating two venues within a venue. Our flexibility enables us to meet organisers’ needs to ensure they get best value from any event. We’re looking forward to seeing ACC Liverpool transformed.”
