Jackie Boughton to lead Barbican Business Events’ sales team

The Barbican has appointed Jackie Boughton as Head of Sales. The role will see her working across the Barbican’s portfolio of venues, continuing its growth and commercial success in the domestic and international business events market.

“Jackie is the perfect fit at the perfect time for our Business Events team. She effortlessly combines strategic excellence with practical tried and tested sales experience – a balance of skills that will be vital to the Barbican’s long term success,” said Barbican chief operating and financial officer, Sandeep Dwesar. “Jackie’s knowledge of the sector, which includes both hotel and venue management, was a key factor in our decision to appoint her. In particular her extensive knowledge of London; strong relationships with key influencers and individuals; and experience at other unique venues made her the stand out candidate for the role.”

As part of its ongoing effort to react efficiently and swiftly to changes in the events industry as well as the wider commercial landscape, Jackie Boughton will work alongside Lee Dobson, head of event management, to create, sell and deliver the Barbican’s creative and unique events offering.

Boughton and Dobson will report directly to the Barbican’s chief operating and financial officer, Sandeep Dwesar.

Jackie Boughton’s experience includes eight years at Wembley Stadium and 18 years with The Vienna Group. During her time in the industry she has been a driving force for change and in particular spearheaded the communications for the HBAA during its launch phase.
