RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2014
Every year the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea are transformed into show gardens, inspirational small gardens and vibrant horticultural displays for the world’s most famous flower show.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show is attended by 157,000 visitors each year. Tickets sell out quickly and must be purchased in advance.

If you’re planning to stay in London for the flower show, book a package that includes a night’s accommodation in a nearby hotel and an entry ticket to the event.

The show has become an important venue for watching emerging gardening trends. New plants are launched and the popularity of older varieties are revived.

It’s the garden design equivalent of Paris Fashion Week and is staged in one of London’s most charming and affluent neighbourhoods.

An even greater emphasis is placed on young designers this year, with the likes of 26-year-old Hugo Bugg laying out his first Chelsea garden having won the prestigious RHS Young Designer of the Year in 2010.

The installation at the Great Pavilion pays homage to the centenary of the First World War, with a garden featuring wartime memorabilia, poppies and representations of the trenches.

Other highlights include a herb garden inspired by Beatrix Potter’s tales of Peter Rabbit, and Matt Keightley’s Hope on the Horizon display that was inspired by his brother’s experiences as a serviceman in Afghanistan.
