RIBA Venues today announced that it will host the fourth Guardian Sustainable Business Awards taking place on 14th May 2014.
The awards, organised by Guardian News and Media, shine a light on the people and projects helping businesses to be more sustainable, not just for their own bottom line but also for the environment and society and will attract around 300 guests to RIBA Venues’ Florence Hall for the event.
Past winners have been companies that were set up to solve a specific sustainability problem or that built sustainability into the fabric of the business from the outset, others have been from companies that are remaking the way they do business. They have included Marks and Spencer, B&Q and the National Trust Wales.
Guardian News and Media’s Event Executive, Ruth Kiveal, says: “RIBA Venues has excellent sustainability values and therefore fits nicely with the theme of the event and was a perfect choice as venue partner.”
RIBA Venues has worked closely with Guardian News and Media to formulate a fully sustainable menu for the event using British produce.
RIBA Venues’ Head of Venues, Stephanie Ellrott, says: “The Guardian Sustainable Business Awards is a great event recognising the innovative projects companies have been using to make a real sustainable impact on society and we are excited to be working with the organisers for the second year.”
