Lounge At The Settlement BuildingDeep in historic Railtown, Vancouver Urban Winery is undergoing massive changes – and the result promises to be one of the city’s most in-demand event spaces. The Settlement Building, as the venue housing the winery is aptly called, recently opened Belgard Kitchen, which services the 65-seat lounge and dishes up appetizing and aesthetic share plates for lunch, happy hour and dinner.
The culinary team have updated familiar items with a creative twist – think flank steak with Chimichurri and malbec molasses, foraged mushroom risotto and locally sourced charcuterie – and all are designed to pair with the winery’s local and international on-tap vintages. In June, the building will branch into beer with the opening of Postmark Brewing (stay tuned).
Convinced? The Settlement Building is available for full buyouts on Monday and Tuesday evenings, and features basic AV capabilities for those who prefer to work before wine-ing down (besides, you can’t ask for a more energizing setting than massive oak barrels, skylights and industrial-chic exposed beams). Planners can opt for the full experience by adding on a sommelier-led winery tour and wine-on-tap education session, or a craft beer tasting once Postmark is up and running. The best part? You don’t even have to leave the city.
