Top speakers confirmed for the European Association Summit 2014With the theme for 2013 being ‘Shaping Your Association for the Future – Inspire, Connect, Empower’ the speaker list offers a diverse range of topics for delegates to discuss, debate and learn about. The European Association Summit (EAS) is the only platform where association professionals will hear from fellow executives how they have responded to the challenge. Short presentations and real-life case histories, success and failure stories and lively discussions moderated by the members of our Scientific Committee will cater for maximum interaction.

Joining her are Alexander Schubert, CEO of the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology; Carlotta Besozzi, Director of the European Disability Forum; Philippe Biltiau, Chairman Masters Programme of the Université Libre de Bruxelles; Michel de Bisschop, Executive Director of the European Society of Anaesthesiology; Alessandro Jacques Cortese, CEO of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology and President of the European Society of Association Executives; Alain Flausch, Secretary General of the International Association of Public Transport; Maria Rosa Gibellini, Director of the European Internet Foundation; Alain Heureux, Founder of the Interactive Advertising Bureau IAB Europe; Anne-Françoise Piette, Marketing Director of the International Association of Public Transport; Jean Quatresooz, StraCon and Titta Rosvall-Puplett, Executive Director, European Biopharmaceutical. Full program

Many big associations have already registered for this year’s European Association Summit. The peer-to-peer format allows each and every one to cater for their own interests and, to a large extent, to design their own program. On-line Registration is still possible for a few days. After, on-site registrations in Brussels will still be possible. The second day all attendees will be able to attend the European Business Summit free of charge.

Brussels hosts more international associations than any other city in the world, whether we’re talking about intergovernmental or non-governmental bodies. It is number one in Europe and number two in the world when it comes to hosting the meetings of international associations. And it is the unrivalled top host city for the offices of international associations (more than 2000). So says the Union of International Associations (UIA), an independent research institute that has been observing and documenting international civil society for over one hundred years.

The European Association Summit 2014 is the second summit organised by VISITBRUSSELS (Brussels’ official convention bureau) in Europe’s capital city. It’s being organised in collaboration with the leading partners in the sector: ESAE (European Society of Association Executives), FAIB (Federation of European & International Associations Based in Belgium) , UIA (Union of International Associations).
