Unique Venues of London invest £43million during first half of 2014

Leading consortium, Unique Venues of London has revealed today (Tuesday 24th June),that its members are continuing to boost the quality of events spaces, with a spend in excess of £43 million during the first six months of 2014.

With redevelopments and modernisations ranging from the regilding of the Grand Temple in Freemason’s Hall, to a refresh of the Foundling Museum’s Introductory Gallery, venue members have committed to improving facilities and event spaces for clients since the beginning of the year.

Investments have also been made to the infrastructure of several member venues, including LSO St Luke’s which has enhanced connectivity in the Grade I listed venue with upgraded Wi-Fi and connection speeds of 270Mbps.

Gibson Hall and London Museum of Water & Steam have pledged to enhance delegate experience with upgrades that have come into effect over the past six months. Meanwhile to mark the centenary of the First World War, IWM London’s* transformation, designed by Foster + Partners, will see new event spaces opening on the 19th of July. These include a contemporary Roof Terrace that appears to float above the re-designed Atrium at the heart of the museum, and re-modelled daytime rooms which will all be catered by its new in-house caterer Peyton Events.
