World Travel Awards announces The Oberoi, New Delhi as host for 2014 Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony

The ‘Oscars of the Travel Industry’, World Travel Awards has announced The Oberoi, New Delhi as the host of its prestigious Asia & Australasia Gala Ceremony 2014 in New Delhi, India on October 10th, 2014.

The iconic hotel will host the event, which will welcome hundreds of industry leaders to the Indian capital.

The Gala Ceremony will celebrate excellence in travel, tourism and hospitality in Asia & Australasia, with industry leaders from across both regions gathering to recognise the achievements of companies in the past 12 months.

Hosting the World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony will form part of a year of celebrations for The Oberoi, New Delhi, which will be celebrating its Golden Jubilee in 2015.

Recognised as a pioneer in luxury hospitality, The Oberoi, New Delhi, opened its doors in 1965 and has enjoyed unwavering patronage ever since. In its successful 50 year journey, the iconic hotel has played host to the world’s elite – from presidents to premiers, chief executives to celebrities and continues to do so.

The Oberoi, New Delhi will mark the sixth and final stop on the annual World Travel Awards Grand Tour, with proceedings having kicked off at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai in May.

Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, in Athens, Greece, marks the next stop on the year-long global search for the world’s finest travel tourism organisations, on August 2nd, with Quito, Ecuador, following on August 9th. The beautiful Caribbean island of Anguilla will follow on August 16th, before World Travel Awards arrives Abuja, Nigeria for the Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony on September 5th.

The Grand Final 2014 will take place in the Moroccan tourism hotspot of Marrakech, on November 29th.
