AEGEAN named the Best Regional Airline in Europe at the 2014 World Airline Awards

For the 4th year in a row AEGEAN was designated as the Best Regional Airline in Europe by more than 18 million passengers among more than 245 airlines worldwide

Athens, 16th July 2014 – Aegean Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, continued its winning success at the 2014 World Airline Awards held, as part of Farnborough International Airshow 2014, on 15th July 2014, scooping the award for the Best Regional Airline in Europe. 2014 Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on 18.85 million completed customer surveys, with more than 100 customer nationalities from over 160 countries participating, voting AEGEAN for its high quality services delivered to its passengers.

AEGEAN wins this award for the 4th year in a row and for the 5th time since 2009.

This continuous distinction of AEGEAN is yet more proof of the fact that Greece has companies adequate to stand in the highly competitive environment and to offer high quality services and to attract tourism of similar level”.

WORLD AIRLINE AWARDS

The World Airline Awards (http://www.worldairlineawards.com/) are managed by aviation research Organisation, Skytrax Research of London, UK. The transparency and global coverage of the survey distinguish these awards as the most prestigious and respected quality recognition for today’s world airline industry.

The Survey operated between August 2013 and May 2014, with more than 100 customer nationalities from over 160 countries participating. Air travellers either completed an online or answered a telephone survey questionnaire about their experience with airlines on the ground and onboard.

The survey covers all types of airline, from largest international airlines to small domestic carriers, with customers ranking quality standards across more than 40 areas of airline front-line product and service.
