IAPCO announced two new members, each bringing a different perspective to the quality PCO association. CTO Congress becomes the first IAPCO member from Russia; ESC (European Society of Cardiology) becomes the second European Association In-House PCO to join the ranks.
Sergey Chernyshevskiy, who heads up CTO Congress, Moscow, commented that one of his company’s main goals was to bring positive international experience and professionalism in congress organization in to Russia. “We need both education and informal communications with other PCOs. Russia is a huge country with high potential. We have many medical associations and scientific institutions, whose members are active on the world stage. Exploring the potential of Russia from all angles would be something we could bring to IAPCO.”
ESC, represented by Isabel Bardinet, Chief Executive Officer, was very clear in their motives: “We come to IAPCO because of Best Practice, because of the exchange of information and ideas, and to remain in the forefront of the trends happening in the meetings industry marketplace. But it is not a one-way street, we, as ESC, will bring data, knowledge and innovation. As with all partnerships, it is a win-win situation”.
“Both these memberships are exciting for IAPCO” commented Michel Neijmann, current President of the Association. “Expanding into the Russian market is something many members are keen to explore, and we are delighted to welcome CTO Congress”.
“ESC”, he continued “is something completely different. Many of us have worked with the ESC on their annual congresses, and also with their conference division on smaller meetings. To have them as members of IAPCO is an endorsement of commitment to the standards maintained by IAPCO. I could not be more pleased to embrace them into our family.”
ESC joins EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers) as the second Association with an in-house congress organising department to join IAPCO.
