London landmark venue, The O2, has announced the appointment of Steve Sayer as commercial services director.
Steve joins The O2 from Manchester City Football Club, where he was operations director. Building a wealth of experience having been with the club for 17 years, Steve oversaw the transformation of the Club’s match day operations, positioning the Etihad Stadium as the leading sporting venue for partner integration, hospitality innovation, public catering, family provision and fan engagement.
As commercial services director Steve will help The O2 achieve its vision to become the world’s leading entertainment destination. He has responsibility for leading several of The O2’s commercial endeavours, including corporate hire of the venue’s 18 event spaces and popular team build activity Up at The O2, as well as liaising with on-site catering and retail partners.
Commenting on his new role at the iconic venue Steve said: “The O2 is without a doubt one of the greatest live music and entertainment venues in the world, so it’s extremely exciting to have the opportunity to lead the strategic development of its commercial operations. With so much to offer visitors, from live performances to conferences and events, The O2 provides a fantastic new challenge and I’m thrilled to be joining the team.”
