World Travel Awards has arrived in Quito, capital of world-beating tourism destination Ecuador, ahead of the South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014.
The event will take place this Saturday, August 9th, at Centro Cultural Itchimbía, Quito, with hundreds of industry leaders in attendance.
Ecuadorian writer, photographer and television personality Renato Ortega will host the ceremony, which will also welcome a stellar entertainment line-up. Taking the stage will be the native artisans of the Quito School of Arts & Crafts, while a violin tribute to the Avenue of Volcanoes will also be performed.
Landing in at the new Mariscal Sucre International Airport, World Travel Awards vice president Sion Rapson said: “Quito is a rapidly developing tourism destination in South America and we are honoured to be hosting our South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014 here. Working alongside Quito Tourism we have chosen a wonderful venue in Centro Cultural Itchimbía for what promises to be a spectacular show.
“World Travel Awards has received tens of thousands of votes in the build up to the Gala Ceremony and there is a real air of anticipation ahead of the 2014 event.”
Quito is the third stage of the World Travel Awards annual Grand Tour.
The 2014 tour began at the JW Marriott Marquis, Dubai, in May, with the second stop taking place at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso on August 2nd. World Travel Awards next visits The Oberoi, New Delhi, India, on October 10th, before completing the Grand Tour in October on the sunshine island of Anguilla.
World Travel Awards will then head to Marrakech, Morocco for the Grand Final 2014 on November 29th.
World Travel Awards Gala Ceremonies are widely regarded as the best networking opportunities in the travel industry, attended by government and industry leaders, luminaries, and international print and broadcast media.
