ACC Liverpool galleria 1@accliverpool has completed the latest phase of a £2.3m refurbishment plan to enhance facilities

ACC Liverpool has completed the latest phase of a refurbishment plan to enhance facilities for clients and visitors.

The venue, home to BT Convention Centre, Echo Arena and, from next year, Exhibition Centre Liverpool, is investing £2.3m in the two year project.

Recent developments include the redesign of BT Convention Centre’s galleria and central atrium to introduce additional facilities such as new organiser offices and meeting rooms, including a new boardroom facility sponsored by E.ON.

The coffee shop has undergone a complete refurbishment and expansion, offering a comprehensive menu and a coffee blend unique to ACC Liverpool, all courtesy of the venue’s in-house caterers Centerplate UK. The catering area will now be known as 1207 Coffee, inspired by the year Liverpool was founded and its rich history of trade, combined with a contemporary high street coffee store design.

The Business Centre and Guest Relations areas have been combined into one unit, allowing more space for delegate registration during events. As part of the new design there will be a range of additional services available in the Business Centre.

Other changes include an increase in the capacity of the cloakroom, new furniture in public areas and updated technical equipment including LED lighting throughout which can be adapted to complement the theme and colour of every event.

The star dressing rooms in the artists’ village of the arena have also undergone a refurbishment including improved lounge, dining and bathroom facilities in each; new furniture and a change in layout and design.

Bob Prattey, chief executive of ACC Liverpool, said: “We continually assess client feedback so that we can provide the best possible facilities for visitors. This latest phase is part of a two year plan which has so far included, among other enhancements, the refurbishment of VIP boxes in the arena; Wi-Fi upgrades to improve bandwidth and connectivity and a wider range of technical equipment. We are now finalising plans for our future investment in ACC Liverpool.

“The developments have been completed in the summer as we prepare for a busy autumnal calendar of events which includes the National Association of Pension Funds, the European Society of Surgical Oncology and National Cancer Research Institute.

“In the arena we’re also set for a busy end to the year with artists including Kylie, Lee Evans and Andrea Bocelli.

“The schedule of works is also timely as we are one year away from opening Exhibition Centre Liverpool and Pullman hotel. Whilst we’re excited about this new £66m facility, we will continue to invest in our existing building.”

John Hunt, organiser of the European Society of Biomaterials, the first conference to experience the new galleria, said: “I’m impressed with the galleria redesign and the enhancements made to the space – delegate feedback about the venue has been extremely positive.”
