At the same time, fulfilling its promise for full coverage within Greece, AEGEAN serves 33 destinations in Greece, assuring in this way access to every island. Specifically, apart from the main destinations where growth appeared, in small destinations covered by only one company, the average fare dropped by up to 34%. Furthermore, there has been an increase in travel. Indicatively, travel increased by 66% in Cephalonia, 36% in Karpathos and 44% in Zakynthos.

Furthermore, during this one year, AEGEAN’s contribution to the promotion of our country and the growth of tourism has been systematic. Through coordinated efforts with organizations such as the Greek National Tourism Organization, the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises, MarketingGreece, the Athens – Attica and the Argosaronic Hotel Association, and the Coalition for Greece, as well as via its own channels, such as enterGreece, AEGEAN’s new inflight channel which features Greece’s beauties and culture, the company continues being an essential pillar and supporter of Greek Tourism.

On the occasion of the one-year anniversary of the union with Olympic Air, Mr. Eftichios Vassilakis, Vice-chairman of AEGEAN said: “In one year we fulfilled our promise to create a strong Greek airline with 87 destinations in 32 countries, and one of the youngest fleets in the market, having added 42 new aircraft in the period 2007 – 2016. We, the whole team of the company’s 2,400 employees, wish today to renew our promise vis a vis society and our passengers as regards dynamic growth and quality services. This has been a great start for the creation of a company with significant presence in the international scene. Every next year shall be a challenge for us, bringing new destinations, innovative services and competitive airfares, while developing the organizational potential of the company and our people.”
