The professionals of Cannes celebrate the 30th anniversary of Tax Free

The local tourism professionals invited Erik Juul-Mortensen, President of TFWA, David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes, General Colin Powell, former US Secretary of State and Alexandre de Juniac, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Air France KLM to celebrate the 30th edition of Tax Free World Exhibition on the steps of the Palais des Festivals and Congresses.

On Monday October 27th, during the inauguration of Tax Free, just like in 2013 for the celebration of the respective anniversaries of the 50th MIPTV and 60th Cannes Lions, all the local professionals working in the tourist industry wished to pay tribute to one of the most important events of the business tourism calendar of Cannes.

So at the foot of the steps of the Palais, hotelkeepers, restaurant owners, beach managers, luxury storekeepers, taxis mobilized again by offering a birthday cake to the representatives of Tax Free World Exhibition and to all the present congress participants.

Wearing white hats, forming a Guard of Honor, the representatives of the sectors impacted by business tourism showed again their implication in the economy of the city.

So the presidents of the different unions and associations, Michel Chevillon for hotelkeepers, Gérard Grizzetti for beach managers, Alain Lahouti for restaurant owners, Jean-Pierre Venou for the storekeeper association « Cannes Prestige », Eric Matteoda for taxis, Bruno Draillard from Cannes Rental Certification, Alain Fabre from Casino Barrière, Serge Bottin from Ecole Hôtelière de Cannes Faculté des Métiers united around Claire-Anne Reix, President of the Palais des Festivals and Congresses, Martine Giuliani, Managing Director and Isabelle Gainche, Sales and Marketing Manager, to honor the 13000 congress participants of Tax Free, customers of their respective activity sectors.
