The section will host the 2nd edition of The AppTourism Awards after the great success registered at the last staging

FITUR KNOW-HOW & EXPORT, one of the specialised sections at FITUR, the International Tourism Trade Show organised by IFEMA, will hold its third edition as part of the Trade Show’s 34th staging at FERIA DE MADRID from 28 January to 1 February 2015. The section will maintain its ongoing commitment to the internationalisation of Spanish companies linked to the tourism industry and will boast a large exhibition space where companies will also be able to have access to the advisory service. In addition, as in previous editions, FITUR KNOW-HOW & EXPORT will roll out a comprehensive programme of activities for all industry professionals.

During the first of the Trade Show’s professional day, under the heading of “Internationalisation”, in the Advisory Area of “How not to die in the effort? Keys to your company’s internationalisation”, a paper will be given on the strengths that should be taken into account for different organisations to achieve a successful internationalisation process. For anyone interested, a personalised advisory service will also be made available by appointment, comprised of experts from ICEX Spain Export and Investment in multilaterals and ICEX-Next and SEGITTUR. A round table will also be staged, “If you fall down seven times, get up eight”, which will discuss first-hand internationalisation experiences.

On January 29th , the section will give visibility to other initiatives that also form part of the National and Integral Tourism Plan, PNIT, 2012-2015, such as Smart Tourist Destinations. Thus, under this caption, FITUR KNOW-HOW & EXPORT will accommodate different monographic sessions, such as the conference “How not to die in the effort? Keys to your company’s internationalisation”, which will take place in the Advisory Area as well as in its expert advisory service. In the Auditorium, a discussion will be staged, “The Infographic of Smart Destinations”, followed by the round tables “Spain, a standard in managing smart destinations. Public-private partnership” and “Integrated Intelligence System: big data, open data”.

After last year’s success, the new technologies at the service of tourism will play a prominent role at FITUR KNOW HOW & EXPORT and will take centre stage at the afternoon session of Thursday 29 January under the name of “Apps Afternoon”. This space will host the Presentation of the Tourist App Guide 2015; the mention of shortlisted apps by category in the 2nd AppTourism Awards 2015 and, lastly, the presentation of The AppTourism Awards 2015.

The last of the trade show’s professional days, 30 January, under the slogan of “Entrepreneurs”, will focus on providing advice, services and aid for anyone interested in creating a tourism-related business. In this process, and for the third consecutive year, the Secretariat of State for Tourism will launch the Emprendetur programme through which innovation projects and start-ups in the tourism industry may apply for a funding plan. In addition, interested professionals will have the opportunity of learning about the experience of the 10 “emprendetures” of the 2014 event. Several conferences will also be given: “Everything you always wanted to know about Emprendetur and the Official State Journal could not explain”, plus FITUREMPRENDE 2015 round tables such as “Investors under review: the art of investing”.
