Renewed interest in Singapore as a top destination for incentive travel
In 2015, Singapore will welcome a strong line-up of large-scale incentive travel groups, pointing to Singapore’s strong appeal as an incentive travel destination. The incentive groups include five flagship events that will attract over 30,000 business attendees:
1. Oriflame Diamond Conference 2015
2. USANA Asia & Pacific Convention 2015
3. BestWorld Convention 2015
4. Forever Living Global Rally 2015
5. Jeunesse Global Expo Unite Annual World Conference
The impetus to establish global business incentive groups in Singapore rests on several factors including Singapore’s diverse and exciting range of leisure offerings that allow organisations to curate compelling itineraries.
Voted the top travel destination in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel list for 2015, the possibilities for the incentive programmes are endless. Attendees could learn more about Singapore’s traditional cultures through activities such as scavenger hunts or heritage walks in cultural enclaves or a tour at the Intan Peranakan Museum.
The itinerary for the Forever Living Global Rally includes an entire day of fun wrapped around the island of Sentosa, where 3,000 delegates will have unlimited access to attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and S.E.A. Aquarium, culminating in a sensational beach party on Siloso Beach.
Sentosa continues to impress with a range of new attractions, including the popular Trick Eye Museum, Madame Tussauds Singapore, and the Royal Albatross, Asia’s only luxury corporate and private tall ship for charter.
Beyond memorable leisure offerings, the world-class Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) infrastructure and integrated resorts in Singapore pose as attractive venues to integrate business events with entertainment activities, making them the perfect backdrops to organise unique incentive travel experiences.
Three out of the five flagship conferences will be hosted at Marina Bay Sands (MBS), one of the largest MICE facilities in Singapore with a state-of-the-art Sands Expo and Convention Centre that can accommodate up to 11,000 delegates. The adjoining hotel holds 2,561 rooms, making it easy to house an entire incentive group under one property. Singapore Expo and Suntec Singapore are additional examples of highly versatile venues that are able to serve the needs of events ranging from large-scale conventions to small, intimate meetings.
Event organizers are drawn to Singapore’s reputation for extensive connectivity, safety, and efficiency. Agnieszka Suliborska, Conference and Event Manager of Oriflame Cosmetics, said, “Singapore is just a fabulous place to host large-scale events. The quality of hotels, diverse entertainment options and the quality of customer service are key factors in helping us choose Singapore as a destination to anchor our events. More importantly, Singapore is one of the most internationally connected cities in the world, and this made flying over 1000 delegates from 4 continents across 40 different countries a fuss-free process.”
“The incentive travel market has a lot of potential for growth in Singapore; our tailored incentive programmes, combined with our strong business fundamentals and strategic location, make us a very attractive destination” said Chang Chee Pey, Executive Director for Europe, South Asia, Middle East and Africa, Singapore Exhibition and Convention Bureau. “2015 is going to be an exciting year as we stride towards Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, and this would give business travellers additional reasons to revel in the Singapore spirit.”
