Jan 18th 2015, New York, USA – New partnerships with the Association sector are driving record growth for the Global Industry Development Network (GIDN), with 2015 starting off with a strong number of association clients and partnerships, up 35% compared with the start of 2014.
GIDN’s head office relocation from Australia to the USA in 2013 is being seen as one of the key drivers of this growth, allowing for an increase in staff with more focus on engaging with associations across North America and the ability to access greater levels of funding.
GIDN’s strategic plan includes increasing the number of associations supported each year from 120 in 2013 to 250 per annum by the end of 2015. By January 2015 this number has increased to 200.
The company’s business model has three core departments; firstly through association incubation and securing funding for Associations, secondly with introducing Associations to Convention Bureaus whose destinations align with the growth objectives of the associations, and then thirdly to bring in the corporations who will benefit from the associations new growth plans and the selected destination the associations are hosting their conference in.
When combined and all three are operating, this achieves industry development within the host city of the conference.
“Our growth goal is well underway with us approaching 200 Association mark now out of 250” says Scott Campbell, Executive Director for GIDN, “our fastest growth markets have been in the USA and India, with Germany, the Netherlands and Russia next in our growth markets.
With us now half way through our 18 month growth plan, we have been supporting many new associations such as the Aquaculture without Frontiers, International Association for Game Development, Pesticides Manufacturers and Formulators Association of India, Indigenous Leadership Development Institute, the International Association for Hydrogen Energy and International Association for African Business and many more”.
The main area we are assisting associations with is in identifying sources of funding around the world, and demonstrating how to use their conference to increase revenue from sponsorships and new members. Associations are benefiting because they are able to better demonstrate the International Associations such as Aquaculture without Frontiers are now taking conferences into locations such as Halifax ,Canada and Los Angeles, California where new partnerships with local hosts have been facilitated.
In addition a new multi-million dollars Aquaculture Learning Centre is under planning development in Malaysia which will then host annual international conferences.
