British Airways is extending the number of routes on which customers can pre-order their meals to 21. The service allows customers in First, Club World and World Traveller Plus the option to choose their meals before travel to guarantee their first choice of main course.

From February 5, the service will be available on flights from Heathrow to Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Houston, Austin and San Diego. From March 1, the service will be available from Heathrow to Atlanta, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Toronto, Montreal and Calgary.

Pre-order catering allows customers to select their meal between 24 hours and 30 days prior to their flight using ba.com and the ‘manage my booking tool’.

British Airways’ Head of Catering, Lynn McClelland said; “We understand how important it is for customers to enjoy their flight and part of this involves them being able have their first choice. We initially selected six routes to offer pre order meals on that covered a variety of different journey times. This allowed us to get feedback from our customers and crew which has been hugely positive. We want to give customers as much choice as possible when flying and we are delighted that we have been able to extent this service onto more routes.”
