The International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) Annual Meeting and General Assembly was set to Reaching New Horizons in 2015.
The event took place in Lisbon, Portugal from 13-15 February, two years after Lisbon was announced the winner of the bid. AIM Group Lisbon Office and Leading have set the tone of the event with the intriguing presentation at IAPCO 2014 in Melbourne, Australia.
IAPCO has a mission to be the vehicle to improving standards. AIM Lisbon Office in collaboration with Leading, showed that working for a common goal for the destination can lead to thrilling experiences for the delegates. The destination team that got together included the two IAPCO members and were supported by the Lisbon Convention Bureau, Cascais Convention Bureau and the Epic Sana Lisboa in order to present their extra-ordinary city.
Lisbon offers a personal experience to anyone that has walked the seven hills. This was offered to the IAPCO delegates – 80 leading event professionals – from CEOs to project managers from the best event management companies around the world. All came together to learn from the inspiring invited speakers, but also to learn more about the Portuguese habits and lifestyle. The program was built to teach through different presentation formats. A number of interesting discussions on what is on the horizon for the events industry but also what will affect our clients in the future were inspired.
Lisbon was set to be discovered – a destination that can offer a range of experiences through the incredible tastes to beautiful sights it has in abundance. The participants had the chance to create memories of their own around the city of Lisbon also through the social program which took them around places as Palácio da Foz and Coconuts in Cascais. “We feel very privileged to present our wonderful destination to top leaders in our industry.
