Rimini Fiera, 8-10 October 2015

Rimini, September 2015 – World tourism is continually growing. This in brief is the point from which one starts to talk about future destinations, markets and also strategies.

This is also the starting point from which Euromonitor starts and which, at TTG Incontri 2015 (Rimini Fiera, 8-10 October) will present the Travel Industry and Online Travel Global Overview being held on Thursday 8th October from 2:00 pm in the TTG Forum Area.

For Angelo Rossini, Online Travel Analyst of Euromonitor International: “Online travel is the force that’s changing tourism.Nowadays, information on destinations and the purchase of services it not only received before journeys, but also and above all during them and, from this point of view, both online and mobile facilities are causing a revolution in the very way in which vacations are sold.A revolution that took almost everybody unawares, apart from the OLTRA (online travel agencies), such as Expedia and Booking.com, who offer an increasing number of mobile and personalized services.”

Italia is not the most unprepared, and in fact there are start-ups and innovative companies, but the overall figures enable to identify problems in available facilities, particularly in southern Italy, a quality:price ratio that is not always competitive and connections that are inadequate for global demand.

Rossini explains: “The phenomenon of Italy’s loss of positions compared to global tourism is irreversible.Europe is losing its share of the market, whereas Asia is growing. However there is a good growth margin for Italy, if we improve the services offered and work is done on fine-tuned marketing.”

Online and mobile travel facilities can be allies, if the right direction is taken.“New business models arrive from the revolution started by online travel agencies, which have compelled tour operators and traditional agencies to re-think their modus operandi.Nowadays, the latest development is to enable travellers to book, via mobile devices, tourist services and experiences such as guided visits, restaurants and other facilities. This sector, in terms of turnover, is second to none and has great possibilities of growth. The same can be said for the other innovative aspect, low-cost airlines, which have also opened up to the world of other  services, such as breakfast, on-board seats, bookable directly and without intermediation, a policy that is also being followed by other companies.”

These are the main elements of change that Rossini will highlight during the conference organized at TTG Incontri.Rossiniconcludes: “The Rimini event is increasingly a place at which to network on tourism, understand new scenarios and buy and sell vacations, so it is indispensable to be there, to be more competitive in a world that is changing rapidly.”

From 8th to 10th October 2015 Rimini Fiera will also host the 52ndTTG Incontri, 64th SIA GUEST major International Hospitality exhibition and 33rd SUN, the key International Exhibition for the Outdoor world.
