Listen Out will officially kick off the Brisbane Showgrounds summer of music this weekend with thousands set to descend on one of Queensland’s most iconic venues.
More than 9000 music lovers will descend on the showgrounds this Sunday to see local and international dance music acts including Childish Gambino, Alison Wonderland, SBTRKT and Golden Features.
Listen Out is the first of many music festivals on the showgrounds’ busy spring/summer calendar.
Next weekend, Australia’s largest German festival, the popular Oktoberfest Brisbane, will return to the showgrounds for the eighth year in a row.
Festival fever will continue with Stereosonic, Soundwave and St Jerome’s Laneway Festival once again featuring in this summer’s festival line-up.
RNA Chief Executive Brendan Christou said the Brisbane Showgrounds was the perfect venue for these type of events.
“The Showgrounds is one of the nation’s top music venues, with some of the best festivals being held here over the coming months,” Mr Christou said.
“We are thrilled these festivals keep returning to the Brisbane Showgrounds, with Listen Out returning for its second year and Oktoberfest for its eighth.”
The 22 hectare Brisbane Showgrounds precinct is located just 1.5km from Brisbane’s CBD and is Queensland’s largest indoor / outdoor events site.
