The Danish way of thinking is that planning a great meeting is very much like planning a great performance. To excite and engage an audience, you need a great story, an impactful setting and the best performers!

To prove the point, Business Events Denmark (part of VisitDenmark) and six Danish trade partners arranged to meet with 35 British Meeting Planners at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden for an evening of networking and dining in unique settings.

Also present was the Danish Director of the Royal Opera House, Mr. Kasper Holten, as well as artists from the Jette Parker Young Artists Programme, who entertained the special guests during an enjoyable dinner with the Danes.

Ms. Margit Klemmensen, Marketing Manager at VisitDenmark UK & Ireland, said:

‘We are delighted to see so many of our British clients backing our meetings & conference destination again tonight at the ROH. Over the years, we have received an immense endorsement of our rather unconventional ‘MINDblowing Meetings ‘ approach, and we hope that our guests return from the ROH with lots of inspiration and great recipes for staging better and more effective meetings and events in Denmark, in the near future’.

Apart from representatives from Business Events Denmark and Wonderful Copenhagen CVB, a number of Danish suppliers – Scandic Hotels, Arp-Hansen Hotel Group, BC Hospitality Group, Park Inn by Radisson, Hadler DMC & Unique Meetings in North Sealand – presented their latest meetings products and gave an introduction to the usability of the DanishMeetovation concept which focuses on strategic meeting design concept and will be used by MPI at their European Meetings and Events Conference (#EMEC16) on 7-9 February 2016 in Copenhagen.

Says Chris Clarke, Director at Purple Dog Solutions:
“If proof were needed that Denmark really punches above its weight when it comes to creativity, the arts, design and plain old ‘having fun’ – last night proved it again for me. An evening hosted by Business Events Denmark at the Royal Opera House, where a good number of industry guests were treated to a fabulous evening of celebrating all things Danish. Firstly we were welcomed by the Danish Director of Opera Kasper Holten, who introduced and educated us all in the wonders of opera in a way that resonated with us all. The evening proceeded with a speed date with a number of Danish industry partners before a stunning private Operatic recital and yummy dinner. All in all, a magical evening, “staged” by our generous Danish friends.”
