ABTA launches Travel Matters 2016 conferenceABTA’s annual Westminster conference – Travel Matters – will take place on 22 June 2016. With the theme ‘Confidence in a changing world’, the half day event will bring together industry heavyweights and key speakers from Government to discuss the geopolitical landscape and how the travel industry is responding.

The event will explore current issues facing the industry, including the key issues at play in the EU referendum campaign; Westminster’s response to a changing security landscape; the Government’s approach to airport capacity and taxation; and ATOL reform.

ABTA’s Chief Executive, Mark Tanzer will open the event and will outline the key themes that will be discussed. Deloitte returns as the event’s headline sponsor, with The Telegraph acting as the event’s national media partner.

The full programme of speakers will be announced in the coming weeks.

Mark Tanzer, ABTA Chief Executive said: “Against a backdrop of global geopolitical change and security challenges, an EU referendum, and significant regulatory reform at home, the year ahead will hold both challenges and opportunities for travel businesses. Travel Matters is a great opportunity to bring these topics to the heart of the industry and I look forward to discussing these issues with delegates from across travel, Westminster, the media and beyond.”
