The ITB Career Center has the latest job vacancies and expert advice from leading tourism companies at the AHGZ & fvw Karrierewelt – information on career prospects in Germany and at sea from the HOGA employment agency – New: universities hold elevator pitches presenting their courses

The world’s leading travel trade show is where to kickstart your career and the ITB Career Center in Hall 11.1 is the place to head for those in search of a job or starting a career in tourism or the hotel industry. Visitors can make direct contact with qualified personnel managers of leading tourism companies, look for jobs and find out more about professional training and advanced training opportunities in tourism.

Big industry players such as the Emirates airline and Sixt car rentals will be represented with their own stand. Other exhibitors will be advertising themselves as prospective employers at the AHGZ & fvw Karrierewelt. This is where young professionals can make direct contact with Adina Hotel Operations GmbH, IST, Azure Hotels, Booking.com, Enterprise Rent Car, Expedia, DER Touristik and Accor Hospitality Germany GmbH.

The AHGZ & fvw Karrierewelt will also be inviting visitors to exchange views and spend time on their stand. The job noticeboards on the stand will provide those seeking careers at all levels with an overview of current job vacancies in the tourism, hotel and catering industries.

Furthermore, job seekers can make use of professional career advice and a free service for checking their applications. More than 50 exhibitors, including universities, technical colleges, career academies and other service providers will have information for young people on courses and advanced training opportunities. On Thursday, 10 March and Friday, 11 March the Young TIC (Travel Industry Club) and the travel portal Urlaubspiraten respectively will be holding an evening networking session.

This is the eighth time that, together with the ’MeerArbeit’ cruise career project and the HOGA employment agency, the Federal Employment Agency in Suhl will be advertising a wide range of vacancies in the catering, hotel and cruise industries. The personnel managers of Hapag Lloyd, TUI and Viking River Cruises will be among those providing information on available job vacancies and trainee positions.

Important career and vocational training topics on the stage and at the ITB Berlin Convention

A wide-ranging programme of supporting events featuring podium discussions and informative lectures awaits visitors on the stage of the ITB Career Center. For the first time universities will be holding elevator pitches to present their courses. During these concentrated five to ten-minute sessions interested listeners can find out about all the available courses.

The lectures of the HOGA employment agency will also be addressing the needs of newcomers to the tourism industry. On 10 and 12 March 2016 the programme of stage events will feature the following topics: ’From applying to securing a job on board’ and ’Living and working in the cruise industry’. On 10 and 11 March 2016, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on each day, a series of lectures by the AHGZ and fvw will also be offering worthwhile information. The subsequent programme of events up to 5.30 p.m. is being organised by partners and exhibitors, among them the DRV and FUR.
