The Tweed Run started in London in 2009 and since then it has been welcomed from New York until Tokyo, and also Greece with the world embracing the event from the first time it was held in Spetses in November 2014, in the context of the celebration of 100 years since the birth of the Poseidonion Grand Hotel. The Tweed Run participants wear clothes that make them feel good, mainly from tweed fabric and with a vintage touch, they get on their elegant bikes and become friends with acquaintances and strangers enjoying the carefreeness of a weekend that stands out from the ordinary.
The Tweed Run in Spetses is even more special as it manages to ideally combine the influences of the London event with the customs of Greece: A milestone hotel that makes you feel like being on the French Riviera, a cosmopolitan island without cars with unique natural beauty, warm and welcoming people, customs and traditions of the old Greece like the ice cream seller with the tricycle and the barber ideally blend with foreign customs like tea and picnics, composing together an exciting experience.
On April 15th, the historic Poseidonion Grand Hotel and the familiar corners of Spetses will welcome friends of the island and the hotel, fashion lovers, leisure enthusiasts to ride all together overlooking the Saronic Gulf, drink hot tea and scones, enjoy the picnic in nature under the sounds of jazz, visit important sights of the island, wander around on the occasion of the treasure hunt, have fun with the beauty contests, but also to experience the new surprises of this year’s Tweed Run, that will thrill even the most doubtful ones!
