dubaimissionWith the aim to repeat last year’s success, Dubai Business Events kick started its annual programme of study missions and welcomed 85 guests from Europe in its first of many study missions scheduled throughout the year. From February 12-14, 70 meeting and incentive planners and a further 15 of Europe’s leading media experts from the business events industry were hosted to experience the city’s world class business event capabilities. Western Europe is a vital market for Dubai, and in 2015 it remained the second highest regional contributor to the emirate’s visitor volumes, bringing in nearly 3 million overnight visitors, reflecting a solid 6.1% growth in numbers.

More recently, Dubai Business Events partnered with the Associations Network to demonstrate Dubai’s strong points for association expansion in the emirate, welcoming more than 20 international association executives to experience what makes the city one of the most dynamic destinations in the world. The study mission introduced international associations to relevant entities and associations based in Dubai, while highlighting strategic opportunities in Dubai for associations expanding internationally and showcased the diverse knowledge base that is housed in Dubai.

Over the course of the year, Dubai Business Events plans to host over 800 buyers and media delegates from its leading markets in a series of study missions, as it continues to build towards Dubai’s ambitious target of welcoming 20 million visitors per year to the city by 2020.
