ALEXANDRIA, Va. – The Association of Corporate Travel Executives is once again offering its membership a unique benefit: a live broadcast of two general sessions from its travel conference, in Dallas, (USA), 17-19 April 2016. What makes it unique in today’s environment is that the broadcasts are free to ACTE members. This is made possible through the continued generosity of Sabre, an Executive Circle Sponsor and a dedicated supporter of ACTE educational programs.
“Business travel managers are under extreme cost pressures these days. There reaches a point where you cannot expect your membership to pay for every bit of information,” said Greeley Koch, ACTE’s executive director. The complimentary conference broadcasts join ACTE’s Zero Registration Policy (for buyers) as another way of offering professional development while reducing participation costs.
“Our general sessions outline the direction of the industry for the year,” said Koch. “These live broadcasts provide travel managers and travel executives, unable to attend the event, to get the headline details as they are announced. The primary purpose of a travel trade association is to promote a greater interaction between buyers, suppliers, and travellers and these broadcasts have proven effective in fulfilling that objective.”
How effective? Conference exposure last year swelled by more than 200 participants worldwide, according to Koch. “That means 200+ additional individuals heard the primary announcements, got the essence of our keynote speakers, and learned of new developments by our sponsors. These broadcasts are no substitute for attending the actual event but they do provide a unique service to ACTE members,” he added. Two other sessions will also be presented as live text chats.
