Sharon Geoghegan has been appointed as the new General Manager of London Transport Museum, located in the heart of London’s exciting Covent Garden and one of Searcys’ collection of venues.
Sharon has over 16 years of experience in the hospitality and restaurant sector including a five year spell as Deputy General Manager at Searcys’ St. Pancras Grand & Champagne Bar.
The appointment comes at a time when London Transport Museum is aiming to maximise its event space potential and her role will be to predominantly attract a wide range of events to use the modern and flexible spaces on offer.
“London Transport Museum is such a unique and iconic venue, it really lends itself to hosting unforgettable events from award ceremonies, product launches, private parties and even weddings. £22 million has been invested in the building and museum over the course of ten years with further AV investment forthcoming in the theatre space (The Cubic Theatre), that’s hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the museum itself. I am very much looking forward to hosting some memorable functions here and to promote such a wonderful venue in the heart of London.”
London Transport Museum has a variety of event spaces including the Museum galleries which offer an amazing backdrop of London icons and beautiful design heritage as well as the Cubic Theatre and Foyer, the Boardroom, and the Upper Deck Café Bar, Coupled with AV excellence and the impactful surroundings of London’s transport history, the museum can help create and support events that live long in the memory.
“Sharon’s experience and enthusiasm has served her well in the past and it will be perfect for London Transport Museum,” comments Rodney Payne, Operations Manager at Searcys. “The museum has so many wonderful event spaces and her drive and passion will no doubt help it to maximise its true potential. It’s an exciting time for London Transport Museum and this appointment is just the beginning.”
