Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau met with UK event buyers in London last week to showcase the destination and its international convention, meeting, incentive and event offering.
The intimate event, in partnership with The Olympic Museum, the SwissTech Convention Center and Switzerland Convention and Incentive Bureau, took place at London’s Arcelormittal Orbit in the Olympic Park on Friday 10th June.
Guests were treated to afternoon tea and drinks as well as a tour to the top of the UK’s tallest sculpture. BBC World Correspondent David Eades was the headline speaker at the event and drew on his experience as a frontline presenter specialising in sports news and European affairs covering the FIFA World Cups in Japan/Korea, Germany and South Africa as well as the Olympic Games in Athens, Beijing and London.
Olivier Mathieu, Congress and Meetings Manager at Lausanne Tourism & Convention Bureau, says: “It was great to come to such a fantastic venue in London and meet with an intimate group of UK buyers to showcase Lausanne’s diverse offering.
“Lausanne is the home of the International Olympic Committee and with more than 50 international sports federations and organisations also based in the city, London’s Olympic Park was a great place for us to visit and showcase what Lausanne has to offer.”
