dogshowFrom 26 – 28 August the European Dog Show (EDS) is set to welcome 12,000 dogs and nearly 30,000 visitors from 54 countries in Brussels. The 2016 edition is set to be one of the biggest Dog Shows of the last 15 years. A 2000 m² “Shopping street” will crisscross 5 halls of the Brussels Expo: the perfect opportunity to become acquainted with the extensive world of dogs.

Belgium has no less than 14 national breeds. Soon a 15th breed will be added, the Belgian Mastiff, which will be reintroduced after being absent for a while.

Patrick Bontinck, CEO at visit.brussels, the Brussels Tourist Agency, is delighted: “The first dog show in Brussels was organised in 1847. The fact that the European Dog Show, the largest dog show in the world, is organised in Brussels 150 years later, feels like a home coming.”

The European Dog Show opens its doors on World Dog Day on 26 August.
