Goose Live Events today announces it has secured four long-term partnership deals for the longest running motoring event in the world, The Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run Supported by Hiscox.
The Surrey-based events agency, which manages and promotes the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run on behalf of the Royal Automobile Club, has added to the already strong line-up headlined by Bonhams as title partner until 2019. For 2016, Goose has signed a new three-year partnership with specialist insurer Hiscox as a supporting partner to the event and a three-year deal with Gatwick Airport. Additionally, Goose has signed a renewed agreement for three years with leading oil and gas company, Total, who supported the event for the first time in 2015 and has also appointed watch manufacturer Chopard as official time-keeper for the first time. In keeping with tradition, this year’s event will take place on the first Sunday in November (the 6th).
Chloë Turrall, Director of Corporate Partnerships at Goose Live Events comments: “As part of our role in organising the Run on behalf of the Royal Automobile Club, we are responsible for securing partners for the event that align with and reinforce its core values as an iconic British event, whilst also enhancing the Run for participants and spectators alike. We have worked with our new Run partners on developing plans that deliver against these objectives and are delighted to have the support of both new and existing partners in the development of the Run in this, its 120th anniversary year.”
The collaboration with the specialist insurer, Hiscox, sees the annual London to Brighton pilgrimage renamed as Bonhams Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox, who will also be hosting a special gathering for participants in the Run at the Royal Automobile Club. Hiscox will also be assisting newcomers to the event by presenting the First Timers’ Guide and the First Timers’ Briefing which takes place in the Club on the Saturday afternoon prior to Sunday’s Run.
London Gatwick Airport is helping to secure the Run’s return to Crawley whilst planning a number of activities to involve both spectators and participants for the illustrious run. These will include offering a warming drink to all participants at the start of the event in London’s Hyde Park and providing hand-warmers to spectators lining the route in Crawley High Street as well as giving them the chance to be photographed with a veteran car.
In Chopard’s capacity as official time-keeper, the Chopard Regularity Time Trial will provide an opportunity for participants to enjoy a competitive element by nominating the average speed they will maintain over a timed section of the route.
Existing long-term partners secured by Goose include Harrods, Abels, Brighton and Hove City Council, Hagerty, Hattingley Valley, Honda Redhill & Gatwick, and Renault.
This year’s Run marks the 120th anniversary of the first ‘Emancipation Run’ from London to Brighton, which was held in November 1896. It marked the passing into law of the Locomotives on the Highway Act which raised the speed limit for ‘light locomotives’ from 4mph to 14mph and abolished the need for vehicles to be preceded by a man carrying a red flag. Around 500 pre-1905 cars will take part in the run in 2016 which starts in Hyde Park and concludes on Brighton sea front.
