World-leading arts and events venue, the Barbican, will host The Association Meetings Conference alongside creative hospitality partner Searcys.
The event, which will take place prior to The Meetings Show on 12th June, will see association professionals including AMCs, PCOs, in house event planners and secretariats gather to learn about and discuss the latest issues affecting the creation and implementation of association events.
This will be the first time the event has been hosted by The City of London, which continues to grow in popularity amongst association planners looking to hold their events within the capital’s historic walls. Searcys, who provide hospitality services to the Barbican across two restaurants, meeting spaces and banqueting will be demonstrating their attention to detail and innovative offering through a combination of creative street food and chef theatre.
“The Barbican, Searcys and the City of London Corporation are all delighted to welcome The Association Meetings Conference next week,” said Sir Nicholas Kenyon, Managing Director of the Barbican. “We balance being one of the world’s oldest cities with investment and development in the latest infrastructure that ensure we remain one of the top destinations for international conferences, meetings and events. From the likes of our recent £600,000 Frobisher conference suite refurbishment to future venue plans, we recognise the value of events, the impact they have on businesses as well as the cultural and intellectual legacy they deliver to both individuals and organisations.”
The Association Meetings Conference marks the start of a week of events in and around London with The Meetings Show as its focal point. Offering a meeting place, market place and learning place for meeting professionals from around the world it is the perfect opportunity to gather and share knowledge. The Meetings Show’s event director, Steve Knight comments: “The Association Meetings Conference has gone from strength to strength since its launch and we are delighted to be moving to the Barbican this year. We are looking forward to the balance of creativity and professionalism their team will bring to the event as well as the superb catering and hospitality provided by Searcys.”
