Sadler’s Wells played host for the first time to TEDxLondon 2017 on Sunday 4th June. The event, attended by 1,400 guests, focused on the theme of confidence.
TEDxLondon 2017 took to the main stage of the 1,500-capacity theatre with a mission to shine new light on the extraordinary capacity of individuals to survive and thrive, celebrate those who have the self-belief to break the mould and ask big questions about the future of our societies and the planet. An eclectic mix of speakers included scientific researchers, entrepreneurs, spoken word artists and international fashion designers.
Contemporary vocal ensemble Reverie performed on stage, as well as violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen, the only British artist to be selected for the programme of the prestigious European Concert Halls Organisation for the 2016/17 season.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Past TED speakers have included entrepreneurs Bill Gates and Sir Richard Branson, British primatologist Jane Goodall and American author Elizabeth Gilbert.

The theme of confidence was particularly relevant, being such a key part of the events industry.”
