Another very diverse mix of creative campaigns by leading ICCA member suppliers will compete for this year’s prestigious Best Marketing Award (BMA) live on stage on 14 November, during a plenary session of the ICCA Congress in Prague, Czech Republic, which is on schedule to be the biggest “congress on congresses” ever.

The finalists are:

  • Flanders Meeting & Convention Center Antwerp: “a room with a ZOO” destination marketing campaign
  • International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney): “Feeding Your Performance” new venue marketing campaign
  • Shocklogic: ESOT event marketing campaign with “Gaudino” the event mascot

A record number of applications were received by ICCA, following increased promotions by video and at ICCA’s Chapter meetings.

Chairman of the judges and BMA Moderator, Patrick Delaney of SoolNua said: “We are particularly delighted about the diverse nature of entries coming from different sectors of our industry and the creative ways in which they have found solutions to the challenges facing them. The BMA has become a unique centerpiece of the ICCA Congress, the only award in our industry that combines careful, detailed scrutiny of each entry by a team of past winners and other marketing experts with the voting input from hundreds of peers from around the world.”

As well as a detailed evaluation by an expert panel including past winners, the BMA finalists are judged by the live plenary audience at the ICCA Congress in Prague, consisting of their competitors and colleagues. The BMA session has become one of the most eagerly anticipated highlights of each year’s ICCA Congress.

The ICCA Best Marketing Award, established in 1997, recognises the excellence and outstanding achievements of organisations in their effort to market their destination or product. Entries can range from full scale campaigns and branding exercises to individual promotions and events. The ICCA Best Marketing Award is sponsored by The Meetings Show and is open to ICCA members only.

Biggest “congress on congresses” ever
At the standard registration deadline, which expired last week, a record-number of over 1,000 ICCA member-suppliers and associations had already registered for this year’s 56th ICCA Congress, promising to make the this the biggest edition of an ICCA Congress ever.
